CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS

The short timeframe and a fixed deadline required careful resourcing to stay on programme.
The multiple parties that formed the joint venture developer group, including the V8 Supercars promoters, Auckland Council, Auckland Tourism and central government, called for a strong focus on a common goal and the careful use of funds.
The horizontal alignments and dimensions were designed in Australia which necessitated clear communications to avoid misunderstandings.
The vertical alignment of the realigned section of track was done by eye which needed to be as-built and turned into an engineering design for construction purposes.
The special race track surfacing required specific design (asphalt binder design by others) and application.
There were many design changes made during construction to meet changing client needs and budgetary constraints.

All work was carried out professionally and at the standards expected by ourselves. We would have no hesitation in recommending them for future project such as this or other civil projects.
