Project - Mainfreight

Mainfreight Hamilton

Dodd Civil provided Civil Engineering design and observation services to this rail project. It included earthworks, stormwater detention and treatment, sewer reticulation, pavement design, and a site survey, including railway corridor and integrating rail access to the site.

THE PROJECT

  • 45,000m2 of sediment control and cut-to-fill earthworks
  • 14,000m2 of building platform subgrade preparation
  • 31,000m2 of heavy duty pavement and car parking
  • Stormwater treatment and detention for the site and paved areas
  • Stormwater reticulation including pavement drawings
  • Wastewater reticulation to the office and service areas
  • Set-out coordinates for the above
  • Observation for quality control and technical support to the above

CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS

We had to coordinate with railways to ensure effective rail entry track layout and construction detail. We also had to coordinate with the contractor and development team in an efficient and timely manner.
This project was successfully completed with all civil elements constructed, as well as our successful participation in a design-build team.

All works were carried out in a professional, timely and helpful manner. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dodd Civil Consultants for any similar projects.
